"I'm a glass half full girl," Buffy quipped. "I'll be right here," she promised as she watched Danny weave his way through the crowd. Less than three feet away from her, a couple vacated a tall table with tall bar style chairs. She took the opportunity to nab it because she figured Danny was an investigator. He could find her in a three foot radius from where he'd left her.

She was sitting there by herself, two beers on the table when a guy in a collared shirt, suit jacket and jeans walked up and leaned against the table.

"Has anyone told you that you're easily the prettiest girl in this room?"

Buffy arched an eyebrow up at him. "Actually, now that you mentioned it, my boyfriend has."

"Boyfriend huh? So could I get you to reconsider your plans for the night."

"You really can't. He'll be back in just a minute," Buffy told the guy. He was tallish and thin. He had one of those smiles that was entirely too perfect to be natural. It practically screamed massive dental work.

"Right. So is that the kind of boyfriend that you make up just to get rid of someone?"

"No he's the kind of boyfriend that this beer belongs to," Buffy assured him. "Really I know you probably think you're being endearing by being so persistant but honestly, it's not endearing. It's just irritating. I'm sure there are plenty of truly single women in here tonight. Why don't you go practice your pick up lines on them?"

"Let me buy you a drink first," the guy pushed.
