Buffy took the subway mostly because walking would take too long. She had stakes tucked in her bag, she'd left a note for Danny (who was working a homicide case)and now she was walking through Central Park. She had her phone on vibrate because nothing ruined a sneak attack like a cell phone ringing. She was supposed to meet Pyro here and they were going to find some vampires to light up. It shouldn't be hard, they loved Central Park like Buffy loved shoes.

"Friend of mine got me this mini desktop swearing punching bag for Christmas. When you hit the bag, it swears at you, which is the part I don't get. Why the fuck would anyone want to be verbally abused for?" He dropped his cigarette to the ground and stepped on it. "Worse Christmas present ever received though? Coasters from IKEA." He shook his head. "Not that they weren't useful, but seriously. Coasters?"

Buffy laughed and shook her head. "Yeah I don't get the whole verbally abused thing either." She tilted her head, considering her present options. "Christmas was always okay present wise, my birthday was the place where life failed. I got an arm in a box one time. It tried to choke me."

"I'm guessing that was from an enemy of yours?" Pyro hadn't ever celebrated his birthday before. Turning a year older usually just came and went without wishes or presents. Mostly he'd forget it was his birthday even.

"Yeah. She was trying to put together a lego man, invulnerable something. He's the one I blew up with the rocket launcher," Buffy said as they walked. Buffy didn't celebrate birthdays anymore and did her best to get everyone to forget them. "So coasters? Like you said, not bad just...not a gift type thing."
