9th Slay [Accidental Video] Thanks for making me a fighter
[The video flickers and the screen is filled with largely incomprehensible images accompanied by the sound of cheering and jeering. There's a flash of green, a spurt of red and then lots of rolling. The device comes to rest close to the wall of an arena. Once it steadies out the action becomes more clear. More clear in the 'oh there's Buffy being thrown against a wall by a large green thing' way. She's bruised, cut up and looks a little worse for the wear. In fact, she's a little slow getting up, just barely missing being squashed by a giant fist...or maybe that's a foot. It's hard to tell with this monster. Buffy rolls , grabbing a length of heavy chain as she does. Once she's on her feet she keeps moving.]
Really. So not the week to mess with me.
[There's a tumble and collision of bodies, an ooof, grunt and then something that doesn't sound human growling. When the device gets enough distance to show something besides flashes of skin and tumbles of bodies, Buffy is swinging the chain with one arm. She takes aim and whips it around his neck then plants her very stylish four inch heels in the arena ground and pulls. Hard. It jerks the monster off his feet and she's up around his back choking with the chain until the monster collapses, twitches and then goes still]
Pro tip: Slayer who's had a really bad week equals a really pissed off slayer equals monsters being all egg shell walky. Or monster being dead. Either way, works for me.
[The crowd is deafening as Buffy drops the chain and walks toward the door leading out of the arena. She snags the device from the dirt floor and sighs]
Guess my day job isn't a secret anymore
[And then clicks the device off]

You mean besides the visiting high school again and--
Dawn's gone. Home. Not gone-she's home.

About that. Sorry. I-- least it's nothing we haven't done before? Not that I'd ever-- I know you're not interested in me like that, we're over, you don't need to say anything, we can just move on and pretend nothing happened.
Re: voice | private/moderately unhackable;
Right. Pretending with much imagination.
It's okay, Spike. Really. It was a curse and--it's not--right. Moving pretending.

Re: voice | private/moderately unhackable;
You saved me that night in Sunnydale. Not when you saved the world. When you found me after they kicked me out. You saved me. I don't know if I ever told you that.

What's it mean, then?
Re: voice | private/moderately unhackable;

I... I now I mean something, to you, Buffy. Just not always sure what that something is.

[He's not really sure what to add, so he changes the subject.]
Your sis'll be all right at home.
Re: voice | private/moderately unhackable;
Yeah. She will.
