[Dawn walks into the room, sanding at the door in silence for awhile. But after a few minutes, she walks over to the opposite side of the punching bag and rests her hands on it as Buffy continues to wail. She can feel each hit from the other side, the power behind it as it moves through the bag and spikes up her arm into her shoulder. It's a connection, a Buffy connection. And that's all she needs right now.]

He's gone, huh?

He's back home. That's a good thing. [She keeps hitting the bag put she pulls her punches a little. She doesn't want to hurt Dawn.]

He's okay where he's from.

Not really, there was a whole -- apocalypse building. Another one.

[The whole Twilight thing was looking strange and ominous. Nothing at all like the shiny vampires from that book. She mentally smirks at the thought, shiny vampires. And then that melts away back into the moodiness she feels right now. There is nothing in the world that can make this okay except time, she guesses.]

There's always one of those. It's like our life as normal.

[She doesn't exactly know anything about that. Xander never got around to telling her about it]

Except here if you die you supposedly come right back to life. Right now I'm seeing more pros to here and cons to home.

[Plus here she doesn't have to compete with a million slayer-ettes for anyone's attention. Well, now there's just her sister really. Spike, she doesn't really need the attention of and Faith probably couldn't care less one way or the other about her. So really, she just didn't have to compete for Buffy's attention. And now she's worried about Xander being back in the midst of whatever was coming at them back in their world.]

So now you don't want to leave?

[She puts her hands on the punching bag, just standing like that while they talk.]

Everyone we love is there except for me and you and Spike.

[She's not going to mention Eliot or the people they've met here that they care about]

[Dawn looks to her sister, her hands still resting on the other side of the bag. She takes a few moments to consider that and realizes she should probably want to go home. And maybe part of her does so they can all save the world again. But here, there are Deties controlling them, so maybe...]

I don't know, it's confusing. Pros and cons to both sides, you know?

Yeah. This place doesn't make anything simple. [She sighs and smooths her hands back over her hair.]

So are we gonna be okay?

[It's a serious question, one she's asked Buffy many times when she truly wasn't sure whether they would be or not. And she's staring into Buffy's eyes right now looking for her sister to tell her that yes, they will be okay, the Summers girls will come out on top still... or at least alive and for the most part emotionally unscathed. She wants the happiest ending you can come up with, Buffy.]

We're always okay, Dawnie. We're Summers girls.

[Her fingers curl and squeeze the punching bag before she nods and a smile spreads over her lips.]

Yeah, we are.

Ice cream and ice skating movies?

Sounds like a perfect Summers therapy night to me.

Me too. I'm going to shower and change into PJ's. Meet you back here.

[She doesn't want to interrupt, but Faith had started healing up finally, and she was itching to head out. Not that she needed Buffy's permission but there was always a chance the other slayer would unquit if asked, right?]

[Buffy pauses and looks up when Faith comes in then focuses back on the punching bag]

Hey.

[Faith watches for awhile. Yes she's something of a creeper, is anyone really that surprised? After Buffy wails a bit more, she can't hold her tongue.]

Not as good when it doesn't hit back, huh?

[Buffy doesn't want to admit that Faith is right so she gives the bag a few more punches before she answers]

Easier on the make up budget.

Right. Wouldn't want to mess up the perfect eyeliner.

[That's okay, Faith will be a dick and dig into her until she makes this a real fight.]

The walk of shame look is more your style.

My girlfriend went home once. She came back the next week. He could come back.

I know and I can't decide if I want him here or home. I mean...here is crazy but sometimes so is home

You feel like, selfish? Really selfish to the point of, why would you possibly want them to go through all this? And your answer is right there. In front of you. In flashing neon lights. You love the guy. Or girl. Best friend, girlfriend, whatever. I don't apologize for being selfish because Summer and Ryan and to an extent Taylor, they make it bearable.

But bearable for you traps them here in a life they're not supposed to be leading. And life here in the City isn't always...sometimes it's awful. Really awful.

So is life, too. Life can get really, really awful. Sometimes as a result of something I've gone and done but life keeps moving. It, it, fluctuates.

So life in your world regularly includes dying horribly and apocalyptic situations. Your friends are better off here?

how do you know for certain when someone has left ?

They've got a hall of missing and when someone goes home, their portrait appears in the hall. Xander's portrait is there
