40th Slay [Video]

[Buffy is standing in front of a punching bag. She has her hands wrapped and she's wearing a wife beater with yoga pants. Her hair is pulled up in a ponytail. Dummies and a wall of weapons can be seen behind her.]

This last week has proven a couple of things to me. 1) Zombies are gross and 2) Self Defense is pretty necessary.

Give those two things, Derek Morgan and I have decided to hold some self defense classes. He'll be doing most of the hand to hand combat, I'll be handling weapons and we'll both do tai chi classes. I'm attaching a schedule for classes. They'll be held at the youth center weekly. All weapons and equipment will be provided.

I hope we'll see a lot of you there.

[ A beat. ] I know.

[Buffy narrows her eyes, going on the defensive.] If this is a thing where you think I'm after Derek I am totally not after Derek. Not that he's not hot. He's totally hot but it's more of a ...not enough bite for me and Oh God I can't believe I just said that but teeth and biting and preferences aside, so not having to worry about me. It's a business thing. Not a business-could-turn-into-something-bitey thing. He's a friend and just a friend. Promise. Cross my heart.

[ It takes a moment, but then Cameron's trying not to laugh. ] He's definitely hot, but I wasn't thinking that at all. I honestly just meant to say that it's great that you're doing this.

Oh good then sorry for the word vomit? [The very cringe worthy word vomit.]

Oh good because I tend to do that, the whole word vomit thing.

I think I can handle it. I'm Cameron, by the way. I don't think we ever did the whole introduction thing, did we?

We kind of didn't. I'm Buffy. It's nice to meet you.

That pretty much sums me up. I mean there are other things but you've hit the highlights.

Are you going to come out for classes?

I might. Or maybe I'll spare myself the embarassment and just continue with the private lessons.

It's probably not as embarrassing as you think it is.

Probably, but I kinda like the private lessons.

Oh. Yeah. I can understand why with the whole private part.

It has its advantages.

In the form of boyfriend advantages which are a whole different kind of advantages then tutor and tutee advantages.

Well, yes.

Anyway it's good you're learning self defense. Especially in this place.

Especially in this place, and as Chief of Police. Self defense and learning how to handle a gun.

Yeah. Good point.

I know. Chief of Police should know how to do either of those, I figure.
