46th Slay [Action]

[Buffy is sitting out on the patio of the coffee shop. Instead of her usual mocha, she's got a pot of tea sitting on the table. She's got some fashion magazines with her and she's flipping through them but really, she's watching the incoming crowd of people. She's definitely looking for people from Sunnydale but she'll welcome any distractions in the form of visitors.]

[Had fallen asleep mid-flight home and woken up soaking wet. She was currently making her way down a street looking for anything familiar.]

[ -- and this is definitely not sunnydale. or any place he recognizes, for that matter. ]

[That is a double take because surely it's not...Buffy gets to her feet, eyes squinting as if the person's identity will change or can be confirmed that way.]

[Oh look. Tall, dark, brooding and Angel looking very confused. After what she's been through with him, her first instinct is to turn the other direction simply because looking at him is hard right now and yet, it's still Angel. She stands up, abandoning her tea and takes a couple of steps toward him. Her voice, when she finally speaks, is more of a croak than anything. Really, it's likely anyone human wouldn't have heard her given that she's still several feet from him.]

Angel. [No question in his name. She'd know him anywhere whether she likes it or not.]

[ whatever happens is a long way off for this angel, who hasn't even left sunnydale for good ol' los angeles or even discovered he could lose his soul, yet. for the best, perhaps. ]

Buffy. [ a brief, warm smile, then business. ] This isn't Sunnydale.

[A tall gentleman is walking a bit dazed. He doesn't seem to mind that his peculiar scrubs are wet with...something.]

[More hesitation but she does take a couple of steps toward him. It's pretty clear by his demeanor and manner that he's from earlier than she is. Possibly much later but she's getting earlier vibe. Also with the mention of Sunnydale. She gives him a soft smile and shakes her head.]

Nope. The City. It's...parallel universe or something very Twilight Zone without the weird music and as far as I know, no monster on airplane wings. Or airplanes come to think of it which would be pointless with the lack of other Cities to go to.

[They've got loads of time until dawn so she'll hold off the offering of basements and blood delivery until later.]

[So many WTF looks here. So, so many but he's gone in her world and so she can't afford not to say hi just in case it is]

Giles? If this is some weird fetish cosplay something please lie to me and say it's for work.

[Is that a voice? One not in his head? You have his attention now, Buffy.]

Are you talking to me?

[Something about him is rather defeated.]

[Oh...so then not...]

Sorry. I thought you were someone else.

[She notices the defeated look and because he resembles Giles so very much, she can't let it go.]

Hey, are you okay? I've got tea over here if you want.

Eww, what is that smell?

[Buffy can hear a voice from behind her. Turning reveals a trio of ladies one of which, a blond, seems to be drinking from a cup of coffee, declaring it ’yucky’ spitting it out and… then idiotically drinking it again. ]

Sisters! We haven’t time for this! We don’t know how long the black flame candle has brought us back for this time… we have to find a way to stay once its magic is fully spent.

So uh, this is kinda familiar. Hi again?

[ the hesitation is noted, and angel's not sure what to attribute it to -- the situation, however, takes precedence over his confusion, so he'll ask about that later. getting a grip on what's going on her first is more important. ]

Another dimension. Huh. First time for everything.

[ Don't worry about the girl hanging out at the diner across the street snapping pictures of you... ]

[ Giles is enjoying the sights, and attempting to take it all in. The architecture, the people, the gardens... After all, he has no idea how much time he has left.

Of course, having realized that he'd somehow managed to stumble through the barriers between his world and this one by simply walking through the double doors belonging to the school library, he found himself quite simply amazed. ]

[Well...it's a nice trench coat, as far as trench coats go and it reminds her of Giles. She reaches out, her hand curling around the lapel of the jacket.]

[At first the sisters don't get much of a look from Buffy. They're odd but that's pretty normal for this place. When they start talking about magic and black flame candles she perks up.]

What...sort of magic?

[Andrew gets a grin more because he's from home than because he's Andrew.]

Hey, Andrew. Again. When are you from? [That's important.]

[She shrugs, hers arms crossing, wrapping around her waist.]

Well Anya kept harping on it so I should have really listened. At least the world isn't made of shrimp.

[Hesitation is the theme for the moment.] Uhm so...also timelines with the dimensions and maybe a first. What's happening back home?

[Except that Buffy does and she abandons her tea, swings around the block and comes up behind Veronica.]

So City Society Page or private investigator and also why?

[He'll go ahead and interpret that as an Andrew-I-am-so-happy-to-see-you-personally smile anyway.]

Uh, about a month after when I was here before, I guess.

[She almost misses him. She really does but she catches sight of the tweed and really there's not that much tweed in the City. At least not that she's noticed and there's the glasses and it's Giles. Attack of the Slayer, incoming. She's just going to hug him. Talking is for later and possibly for when Giles isn't having the breath squeezed out of him.]

[A vampire with glowing eyes is watching you from the shadows, Buffy. He isn't sure why he's here, but he's certain he hates it.]

[ Okay, Veronica is not used to the whole jumping from surprise thing. But that it's Buffy just makes the jumping all the more awesome. And he awkward smile and laugh all the more awkward and smiley. ]

Ooh, wow. Caught so red-handed. Newspaper fashion section? Love the boots, very seasonal.
