Coney Island was a great idea. In so many ways Buffy was still very much a tourist in New York City. Danny had gotten home keyed up and as was Buffy so they'd decided on Coney Island. Buffy had thrown on a pair of dark denim capris and a slate blue sweater that slid off her shoulders. She'd put her hair in pigtails and thrown on a pair of silver puma tennis shoes. Now they were standing in line for The Cyclone. Buffy was bouncing on the balls of her feet. She squeezed Danny's hand and leaned over to kiss the side of his neck.

"It's been years and years since I've been on a roller coaster."

"What, you been to one of those giant roller coasters? Some of those drops... shit." Danny shook his head, looking sideways to her around an excited grin as they started going up again.

"Yeah straight down and it felt like it took forever to fall," Buffy nodded. She couldn't help but return Danny's grin. He looked like a little boy and she'd ride this silly roller coaster over and over again to see him look like that. Particularly now when everything was so hard.

"Been on some of those... like at six flags." Danny nodded. "Ever been to six flags? Lots of stuff to do there."

Buffy shook her head. "Nope. Used to go to Disneyland all the time when we were little 'cause we lived in LA but never Six Flags."

"You probably been to Disney lots livin' so close to it. Never been. Always thought it looked nice enough though." Danny said.

"We'll go sometime," Buffy told him with a smile. "I'll take you."

About that time the final descent and spiral came up so Buffy threw her hands up in the air and screamed on the way down.

The spiral was the best part. And Danny threw his hands up in the air too, the hand closest to her finding hers and linking fingers. "Woooooooooooo!" He screamed.

Buffy's scream echoed Danny's and when the coaster jerked to a stop back where it'd started her fingers were still entwined with his. The lap bar disengaged, raising up and they scooted out of the car and headed toward the exit.

"That was fun," she told him, flushed and slightly breathless as they walked.
