Mermaids and beer FTW [RP for stillacrime]

Buffy and Danny were walking along, weaving between people. Buffy had one arm around Danny's waist and she was holding a beer in the other hand. This was the Mermaid Parade. It'd only just started, sending a parade of floats and people in mermaid costumes by them. It was hot and Buffy was wearing the pink bikini top with the white skull and crossbones on it she'd bought at Victoria's Secret along with a pair of cut off shorts that weren't Daisy Dukes but short enough. She had a pair of pink two inch heels on as well.

"Sorry, Boyfriend, you have to wait for the mermaid costume later when we get home," she teased him.

"Mmmm," Buffy mused, tilting her head and watching some of the goings on. "I didn't know but I can see it. I thought Mardi Gras was just a Lousianna thing but it's it some kind of religious thing? Like with lent. It's a whole giving up stuff and Mardi Gras is like the whole sin while you can party. Okay so it's probably not religious. It was probably made by teenagers who got repressed by their religious parents so they rebelled. And it evolved and now it's like the world's biggest block party."

Danny chuckled around a crooked grin. "Oh, this is about to turn into one huge block party once the parade is over. Drinkin' and dancin'."

"Mmmm, I like the sound of that," Buffy told him as she leaned in and kissed him.

A small marching jazz band passed by in front of another float. "What, you like bein' close to me? ...with beer?"

"Nah just the beer," Buffy teased him as she slipped her thumb into the back waistband of his pants, resting her hand there."Oh...wait. I got that order wrong. It's just the being close to you I like. The beer I can take or leave."

"Nice save, Summers." Danny teased, lightly bumping her side with his.

"I'm good at that saving thing," Buffy teased him in response. She turned her head and kissed his shoulder then bit his shoulder lightly.

"Hey now..." He turned to kiss the top of her head. "We'll be late to the party."

"Hmmm that would be a shame," Buffy teased him. "OK have it your way." She took a sip of her beer. "But later I'll have it mine," she winked at him.
