TM 196: Heroes and Villians
What Makes Someone a Hero? What makes someone a villain?
In my opinion, and this is from personal experience…Sacrifice. All the heroes do it. Spiderman with the whole sacrificing being with Mary Jane, Superman and Lois Lane, (What? I watch movies. It’s post slay-age tradition)Buffy Summers andOwen Angel Riley Spike everyone. Everyone except Dawn but that’s a whole thing that would take like forever to tell you about so I’m gonna skip.
Heroes sacrifice. They sacrifice their lives, their clothes, their friends, their love lives and they get nothing in return. I mean…sure they’ve saved the world but no one ever says Thanks! Glad I’ve got a world to live in because you rocked the other night. Most of the time, they never even know. They just…go on about their lives and for a hero, that’s enough. It has to be. If they expected parades and keys to the city, they wouldn’t be much of a hero would they?
A villain, well that’s easier to explain and it’s easier to be one. Get a set of bumpies on the forehead and a pair of fangs, you’ve got a 98% chance of being a villain without even trying. I’d say the villains have it easy, but then the villains have me hunting them so…they’ve also got a really high mortality rate because you kill me, 100% chance I’m coming back and I’m just gonna be pissed off because dead isn’t a good look for any girl.
