[Patrolling the Underground is something Buffy does every night. There's almost a comfort in the fact that at least here in the City there's no such thing as a slow night. She's always got something to beat on. Which is what she's doing when the device skitters across some broken pavement and turns on.

"Soap. Look into it. They even have flower scented body gel now."

She kicks the thing she's fighting square in the chest and sends it sailing to land against the wall with a crunch.

"You might even try lotion. It could help the skin condition you've got going on."

She moves in with the stake. Her aim is perfect but only the point of the stake buries itself in the creature's chest. The sound that gurgles out of him is as close to a laugh as anything else. He lunges at Buffy. She's still a bit in shock that the fact that the stake didn't go in but she reacts instinctively with a right hook that should have stunned the creature. Instead she lets out a scream of surprise and out right pain. Her arm feels like it's broken and this is a feeling she remembers. It shakes her out of her shock and she turns to run but her usual preternatural speed isn't there. She slips a little, snags the device and pushes herself up to run again. Balance, grace, speed and strength all off. Apparently she's going to have to get through this with human abilities.]

[it's getting darker in his video--he's making his way down] We'll---we'll concern ourselves with that later, Buffy--your safety is a bit more imperative...is the--is it following you?

[Buffy leans around the corner to find beasty thing sniffing the air and lumbering toward her. She starts moving again.] Yup. He's on the hunt.

[he hurries across some uneven pavement, the neon glow of the Raven over his shoulder] All right...odds, ends--where were you last?

The warehouse. Five stories. Bad lighting. Where are you and I'll work my way over there. Be careful, Tarrant.

[mutterings about 'warehouse' 'five stories', headed that way] Near one such establishment--the Raven. You be careful as well...

[he side steps various people, avoiding dark alleys when he can]

Okay. I know where that is. I'm heading that way. [Hopefully they'll meet in the middle. She's doing the same thing, staying with people as much as she can]

[he's nearing the warehouse, he hopes--and seems to be clutching a medium length metal curtain rod in his fist, something left over from the shop renovation; he avoids another seedy looking bunch of people, favoring wandering from pool to pool of street lamp light]

[Buffy turns the corner, grateful to see Tarrant there. She rushes toward him.]

Tarrant! [There would be hugging but her arm still hurts and she's not entirely sure that she's not being followed.]

Oh--! [he runs to meet her and lightly looks her over] Buffy--! Thank all, here you are...[he grimaces at her arm holding; he thinks to give their surroundings a glance, putting a hand on her shoulder] We should go, sooner than otherwise.

[She'll be alright, really. She's a big baby when you take all of her powers away.] Sooner is better [She steps close to him, prepared to let him lead the way out. She's still got her stake clutched in her good hand]

[he nods, giving the street another glance, and heads back the way he came, his curtain rod at the ready; he swallows, a bit of his worry leaking out now--this woman isn't supposed to hurt like this] Do you know what happened..?

[Buffy shakes her head, watching for signs of the monster that she'd made angry] I don't know. Curse...maybe? With really poor timing.
