---not fair. I mean seriously does everyone know about my relationship history? Is there some form that I forgot that I filled out. And those were two very specific, separete situations...vampires. Whatever. They had souls. Have souls. It's not like I--And there were people--okay person between--actually if you count Owen--who was post slayer--there were like at least 3 people who weren't vampires and I swear I did not date The Immortal. That was a rumor and also my decoy that was dating him. Give me a little credit. It's not like Spike went by William the Bloody when I was--or even--okay so Angel did go by Angelus for a little while but that was because he was--

Evil and you can't really say we were dating during the evil portion of The Life and Times at Sunnydale High. We were definitely broken up. You know that happens when your boyfriend kills your friends and your friends' fish.

[Some incoherent mumbling here by someone that is not Buffy]

What? No I do not have a supernatural fetish. I mean sure Satsu is a slayer and Riley was...he was normal for at least...a couple of months. Parker! Parker was entirely normal...and jerktastic but normal and Owen. I mentioned the normalacy of Owen right? And Pike back in LA. Also normal.

Not to mention Hello! Dating Eliot now and he's an entirely and totally normal boy.

[A very long pause]

Can't we talk about apocalypses or the times I saved the world or even my slay fashion faux passe.

[He answers, kind of jealous but totally passing it off as pissed off. At least she thought he was normal. That's the first time he's heard that. Of course he hasn't always been completely honest with what he does, not that she's ever asked. He likes that.

He nods at the question asker.]

Want me to punch him?

[The guy in question takes off when Eliot mentions punching. She contemplates this for a very long moment. Eliot could hit him without causing actual mortal damage. After a second she shakes her head and sighs]

Tempting but no.

[She takes in his expression and winces a bit] Sorry you had to hear that?

Everybody's got a past, I guess.

[He shrugs as if trying to shrug the entire thing off. It doesn't really do the job but whatever.

He lifts a bowl with seran wrap over it.]

I brought you darn chocolate mousse with fresh mint.

[A smile curves her lips and she slides her arms up around his neck, leaning in to press a kiss against the corner of his mouth]

[That kiss makes him smirk and dip his head, his hardened features smoothing out a little bit.]

[She bites her bottom lip and considers this a moment]

I like little bit bad boys--not evil--who are normal. Amending. I think I just like you.

What if somethin' comes out that you don't like? Somethin' that might make me not so good?

[Okay this could be TMI curse or it could be just fact. It's hard to tell by the tone of her voice] I think you'll be okay. The plague in Galloway in 17late something or the other that killed the entire town--not a plague. Sort of my ex.

Other ex used to be called William the Bloody. He earned the nickname Spike because he drove railroad spikes through people's heads.

You'd have to be really, really bad for me to backpedal.

[Pause]

They were both souless when they were all kill kill kill. It's not like I'm one of those women who fall in love with serial killers on death row. I'm not pro kill kill kill. Just so you know.

[That all totally makes him feel like a saint... and a little insignificant. He hates being insignificant. So he hands her the bowl of dark chocolate mousse.]

[have a very confused Buffy]

What? Wait. Why? Is it because...I thought you said we all have pasts. I'm not dating either one of them now. I'm dating you.

[Buffy takes a step back, both hands on the bowl of mousse he brought her.]

You're nice to me. We have fun together. You get me. You're okay with slayer Buffy and girl Buffy and how sometimes they collide and sometimes they don't at all. We have things in common. You can take care of yourself. I feel like you could survive in my world and be tough to kill.

[She's staring a hole in that bowl]

And on the completely shallow end of things, you're pretty to look at.

[He's listening intently to everything she says, but smirks at the last bit.]

You're pretty hot too, Rocky. Really hot.

[He pauses.]

I'm... not always a good guy though.

[She looks up at him then, eyebrow arching]

Like mass murder not good or like don't pay your parking tickets not good?

[And oh still standing in the middle of public place]

Maybe we should go talk about this at the warehouse in my room. Y'know less public.

I don't know if I wanna talk about it yet. I'm just sayin' I'm not as good as you think I am.

I sort of never applied a good or bad label to you. You're just not evil as far as I can tell. It's a good thing.

I'm not evil. [Yes he agrees.] Just do what's gotta be done to get the job done.

[Oh good. Evil would introduce problems in their relationship] You and I aren't that different in that regard. I just draw lines because of what I am. I don't kill humans. There are police, vigilantes and other human devices for that.

Other human devices? Lines are just... things that make us feel bad when we're doing what's gotta be done. I'm not a line kind of guy, I guess.

You know. People who carry out justice. Or whatever.

[She shakes her head at this. It's one major difference between her and Eliot]

No. I've seen what happens when a slayer crosses the line. I can't and won't let myself become that.
