48th Slay [action] They'll have to go through you first

[Buffy is in full patrol mode. She's even got the commando thing going for her with black cargo pants and a black turtle neck. The bright red pea coat isn't exactly military issue though nor are the fashionable high heeled black booties she's wearing. She's got her hair pulled back into a ponytail and she's wearing a sling style back pack filled with a variety of weapons. Stakes, both silver and wood are shoved into the waistband of her pants. There's water guns filled with holy water in the pockets. She's got dead man's blood, tranq guns and lead stakes. She's spent the week at the library doing research on various types of monsters from various worlds so she knows what she's up against.

Not that that's going to make it easy. It's never, ever easy.]

[ooc: If you've got a monster that needs to be killed in order to be saved, comment here. Give me some idea of what you want either in the comment, PM, email: writer@allengames.com or AIM: rageiscute I'll be happy to accommodate!]

Of course not but that would have been [considering and brow furrowing now] potentially child hood scarring.

[She looks down at her jacket and takes another step back.] Thanks. It's new. You could try it on if you wanted.

[She's no longer interested in conversations about whoever 'Ariel' is. When Buffy takes a step back, Charlie swims forward some, still watching the jacket. She's not wary just yet, curiosity taking over a bit too much.]

Can I? [Pause] What does that feel like?

It's a soft wool sort of stuff. [She takes the backpack off, setting it to the side and slides the jacket off, holding it out of Charlie's reach. She wants to get as much of her body out of the water as possible before she jumps in to grab her.]
charring: (always looking over my shoulder)

[Human Charlie doesn't usually care about fashion. She likes jeans, fun t-shirts. That's the extent of it. The Charlie Buffy is dealing with, though, is convinced she'd look good in that red thing. Even if she had no clue what it was. She follows the jacket, only slightly aware that she was heading towards dangerously shallow water. Don't mind the hand reaching for the soft thing, Buffy. Pay no attention to it.]

[Buffy grabs Charlie's wrist, pulling her out of the water and tossing aside the soft red thing in favor of getting Charlie well onto the shore in order to pin her to the ground.]

Really sorry about this but you're going to thank me later.

[Charlie immediately goes from curious to rage fueled and panicked. She struggles violently, hissing and growling. Her eyes and teeth shift, eyes going almost solid white except for tiny pupils and teeth elongating into something sharp. Her free hand tries pushing Buffy's fingers off of her wrist but, annoyingly enough, the land-dweller is too strong. This leaves Charlie uncertain, the mermaid deciding to drag them both back to the water. It doesn't work, however. She's already far enough on land and she could feel her fin shifting as it thrashes violently.

The faster her fin changes, the weaker Charlie gets and once her fins turn to legs, Charlie exhales and falls still.

Buffy: 1. Charlie: 0. She'll thank you when she revives, provided she can borrow that red coat. She's...really not wearing a whole lot at the moment.]

[Buffy just tries to contain and keep her on the ground. Teeth scrape her shoulder but the turtleneck takes the brunt of the damage. There's some slicing going on with the fin but again, Buffy's wardrobe gets the most of it. It's not an easy fight and when Charlie falls still, not breathing, Buffy pushes herself to her feet, brushing dirt off her clothes and assessing the damage.

She picks up her backpack, adjusts it and hangs around until Charlie revives.]

[After a few moments, Charlie revives with a start. A long gasp, a coughing fit and a muttered swear as she realizes several things.

1: She's soaking wet.
2: She's very much so lacking clothing and
3: She remembers everything about the last week.]

Jesus.

[She curls herself into a ball, turning to look over at Buffy a moment.] So...about that jacket...

[She's trying so hard to not say it through chattering teeth.] Also, I really hate being in the water. That was fucked up.

[She doesn't seem as bothered by it, though. Curses are becoming as normal as breathing. Almost.]

[Buffy feels really, really bad about having to do that so she gladly hands the jacket over.]

Sorry about that. [She fishes out a couple of oranges and holds them out to her] You can catch the subway back to your place for some coffee and blankets?
charring: (and she is happy again)

[personal profile] charring 2011-10-28 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
[Charlie takes the jacket, pulling it on as she stands. She also takes the oranges, smiling gratefully. She sighs, nodding.] Sounds like a plan. And thanks. For everything.

[She turns, wobbling slightly but steading herself as she goes. Waving at Buffy again, she speaks as she heads away.] Stay safe, Buffy.
