[Nervous]
She knows she’s being ridiculous but he looks so fragile. He’s black and blue nearly head to toe and every time he moves he tries to hide a wince. Every time she helps him across the room she’s reminded how breakable he is. She finds herself shying away from him, touching him less and skirting around him. It’s not that she doesn’t want to touch him, it’s that she doesn’t want to hurt him but doing so right now would be so easy.
She sits on the couch at his feet, hands tucked between her knees or underneath her thighs to keep from reaching over to touch him. She doesn’t lean against him and she’s horrified that she ever sparred with him, even if she did pull her punches. The line has been drawn and Danny is left standing on the side of so clearly human while she’s stuck on the not human side.
Too strong, too fast, too much of a freak. How could Angel have ever thought she could be normal? For that matter, how could that same hope ever have crossed her mind?
